Does Grapefruit interfere with Meds?

Q: Will the Grapefruit Essential Oil in Citrus Fresh interfere with my medication (if my doctor said NO grapefruit).
A: Young Living Grapefruit Essential Oil Has NO Drug Contraindications
Researchers believe that furanocoumarins block the enzymes in the intestines that normally break down certain drugs (statins, Viagra, Valium, Zoloft, Allegra, etc. Furanocoumarins are not found in grapefruit essential oil.
ANSWER from Sandie Isbister, MD : NO AFFECT. The enzyme in the grapefruit pulp and juice are what break down the pharmaceuticals, leading to uneven drug levels. Young Living essential oil comes from the skin of the fruit (such as when you bend any citrus skin back you will see micro-oil droplets pop out). There are NO enzymes in the skin, hence NO DRUG CONSEQUENCES. ~ Sandie Isbister, MD (check her out on Facebook)

The active ingredients in Grapefruit Essential Oil are different than the ingredients in Grapefruit that interfere with certain medication.
The list of active furanocoumarins found in grapefruit that can interfere with drugs includes:
bergamottin, bergapten, bergaptol and 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin.
